The collages of Robert Tucker point toward the microcosmic. Intricate, diminutive references to the manmade and natural worlds, they act as containers of memorabilia, specimens, souvenirs of the intersection of chaotic nature and human knowledge.

George Tysh
poet, journalist, artist (1999)

The representations Robert Tucker has given us in the collages ( Dispatch detroit. Vol. 1) sleep with dream-like excess and blur our breath with space and excitement. They flow like light above a patient river. These symbolic images tie dialog with seduction and leave us climbing into open air asking questions not only of the immediate space but also of the universe. Tucker's images combine the conscious and subconscious thought in rare moments of visual poetry. They are Zen like messages and fragments of a story which the viewer is invited to complete. They become the dreams begun in a lover's arms.
